2 star Michelin - trained chef
Chef Lee begins his culinary journey to learn from Chef Tsutomu Fukuhara of Nami Asian Bistro in South Carolina.
His next interest went on to pastry and baked goods. And while working with the Pastry Shop he had the opportunity to learn the intricate workings of pastry.
After he graduated Le Cordon Bleu, he went to work at St. Cecilia in Atlanta, GA, he amassed the culinary art of freshly handmade pasta’s and European cuisine.
During his journey through hard work and dedication he had the opportunity to explore further with a 2-star Michelin restaurant, Melisse in Santa Monica, CA. Where he had the vision to add to his growing talent and the eye-opening experiences of fine dining.
Chef Lee worked at Margot which broadened further his vision of the culinary arts with their Mediterranean dishes and styles.
His traditional foundation comes from Le Grand where they are well known for their dishes with an artistic flair. There he worked as a Sous Chef with Chef Alex and Chris Manos to acquire proper skills to design exclusive decadent dishes.
And with the multitude of culinary arts from Japanese, Mediterranean, and French technique’s, Chef Lee loves to further expand his culinary expertise by highlighting and developing their own essence and flavor of each ingredients taste from scratch.
Prior to the grand opening of Pastars, Chef Lee worked with Chef Joe Sasto in a modern idea of Pop-Up. This is again where he saw the need to fulfill handmade pastas for a diversity of customers.
And finally, this is where in April, 2020 head Chef Lee along with Sous Chef Mike had a grand opening in orange county, CA with business owner Hyun Jung.
